HOMI 2018: the home and lifestyles exhibition

26/01/2018

All set for the new edition of HOMI, the Lifestyles Exhibition, running at Fiera Milano (Rho) from 26 to 29 January 2018.    This edition will feature 1,463 exhibitors of which 25% are from 39 different foreign countries. An edition that promises to focus on opposites attracting, thanks to the creations and products on display, presented by both international companies but more often by small businesses with high creative potential. An important opportunity for discovering just how home accessories are evolving and for a sneak preview of the trends set to dominate the months ahead.  From materials to shapes, colours to intended use, all products at HOMI will become living examples of creativity, imagination and culture.

The exhibition promises to focus attention on solutions offered by companies of all sizes, capable of offering originality and quality, as well as on once-offs and exclusives: therefore plenty of space dedicated to outstanding craftsmanship, not to mention also innovative up-and-coming designers.  At HOMI there is room for all kinds of home living: from delightful new home fragrances to try out, to the visual and tactile sensations offered by the latest collections of home fabrics and linens, right down to what’s new in the world of kitchen and tableware.

Then there are the interesting Creations and Design Creations areas, which have always been a hotbed of innovation, presenting the creative flair of young designers who strive to impress with their reinterpretations of everyday objects. Also back again this time is the Kids Style section, devoted to home living for children, while the cream of international production will be featured in the themed areas inspired by the European (DDD) and Middle-eastern tradition.

This year sees another comeback for Festivity, the HOMI area dedicated to Christmas and other holiday decorations, set to open a few days before the official opening of the main event (admission for trade operators is from 23 to 28 January).

In its third year running is the trends analysis by WGSN – a leading international company in market and trends research in the fashion and design sectors.  Like in previous editions, together with the conceptual categories emerging from research, this section will also present HOM TRENDS, which this year will transform the said trends into sensory experiences and feature special meetings on the subject.

Lastly, the HOMI in the City format will be back again this year, with initiatives that set out to bring the stories and protagonists of HOMI also to the general public.  On this occasion, the Lifestyles Show will be presenting the exhibition “Conviviando, l’Arte della Tavola tra passato e futuro” devoted to the most fascinating expressions of tableware, as a yardstick for changing styles over the years.
